These journals require that your study's results are based upon cell line authentificated material:
Over 400 cell lines have already been registered as either cross-contaminated or misidentified
In 2010, Amanda Capes-Davis and Ian Freshney published the first list about cross-contaminated or misidentified cell lines:
Capes-Davis A, Theodosopoulos G, Atkin I, Drexler HG, Kohara A, Macleod RA, Masters JR, Nakamura Y, Reid YA, Reddel RR, Freshney RI (2010) Check your cultures! A list of cross-contaminated or misidentified cell lines. Int J Cancer 127: 1-8. PMID: 20143388.
In 2012, the International Cell Line Authentication Committee (ICLAC) was formed after the publication of the ANSI Standard (ANSI/ATCC ASN-0002-2011) for human cell line authentication.
From there on, the ICLAC established and curates the
Database about cross-contaminated or misidentified cell lines
already listing over 400 cell lines.
