Customer Support, Ebersberg
I started out at Eurofins as a lead biologist in our sequencing laboratory. At the time, I wanted to work in a lab where I could apply my accumulated expertise and simultaneously support colleagues in the research and development department. This was a great career step for me since I gained a deeper understanding of how everything works together in the lab, from prepping samples for analysis to analysing data results for customers.
I later worked in the microarrays department which rounded my lab experience before working as a technical services manager in the customer support team. The change to customer support was a definitive step in my career since I won a whole new perspective about the business. Until then I was the guy working in the lab ensuring that customers get the results and now I was in direct contact with the customers helping them understand what the results mean.
I accepted a position as Team Leader and I am still in contact with customers every day. But I also manage a team of talented scientist and together we help customers get the information they need.
Over the years, I have come to appreciate the fact that Eurofins Genomics is constantly implementing new technologies and seeks ways to stay ahead of the competition. There is always room for new thinking and how we do things at Eurofins Genomics.
Michael joined Eurofins Genomics after obtaining his diploma in Biology from the Technische Universität München (TUM) in Munich Germany.
